A.K.A. The 2-String Ripper

This Bass came into my life as a Black Peavey Fury II, from a Goodwill, for the price of $45.09. At the time I had only owned one bass before this and was looking for instruments to mod. The price was right and I brought it home. It originally had a Peavey Active pickup in it that didn't work at all, so I gutted it. I filled the two holes I wasn't going to use with some wood glue and a dowel and sanded the body and headstock.

The intention with the paintjob was to look like a racecar after a crash.

I made the 2-string nut from an old acoustic guitar bridge.

For the pickup I decided to slap a single coil bridge pickup from an old kids squire stratocaster in it with only a volume knob and killswitch.

The killswitch that is currently in it pops whenever you use it. That could be that it's a bad part or it could be because of my bad wiring. Either way, I'm replacing all of the internal components soon.

When I got the guitar it didn't have either of its plastic back covers and (I didn't have plastic to cut my own), so I made these out of paper. These covers are made from a stack of 3-4 sheets of card stock cut to shape and wood glued together, then painted.
